|  Both valid observations, but ... She's wearing Mickey Mouse socks! So cute. I just think it's interesting that in such an anti-western, anti-capatalist society there would be an official government policewoman wearing Mickey Mouse socks, especially while on duty. |

| Perhaps they just got their hands (or feet, LOL) on anything they can get...I'm sure there's a shortage of things like socks in NK. Those are a real sorry pair of shoes, when you look at them. |

Awww.... that spoils my fantasy. I'm imagining her being all girlie and cute buying Mickey Mouse socks to try to impress me. 
And I just noticed that she ties her shoe laces in the middle instead of at the top. |

No matter what the shortage I can't imagine Jong allowing one of his countery's authority figures to wear a product of what I am sure he considers a pillar of decandent western society [Disney and/or its mouse].
Besides, when it comes to the DRPK Police and Military there never seems to be any shortages. |

| No, it's not photoshopped, Eric Lafforgue's flickr pics.
The TGs may be allowed to wear their own socks, as long as they're white. In the pic of the eight trafficgirls, you can see several different style socks.
Disney is a ubiquitous brand, especially popular in Asian countries. No one can stop the mouse! |
