I wouldn't have one but it is the only way to communicate with some of my nieces and nephews.

Also worth mentioning. The IP 121.167.43.161 is a ROK (South Korea) based IP and could be "seized" by the KCSC.

I would be very cautious with that "http://sptv.co.kr/" link as I got several warnings that the site is not safe from multiple extensions.
Google Chrome flagged it as Malware and Netcraft gave it a 7/10 risk rating.

I checked it with IE and they have no reported problems. I checked with Norton, same thing.
Google Chrome does have a warning, but checking with Google Safe Browsing Diagnostic give this message:
"Some pages on this website send visitors to the following dangerous websites: 61.209.205.0. "

but when Google then analyzes the link it says is dangerous, it says it is not dangerous:

I have never had a problem with SPTV, it's been around for a long time, but I suppose better safe than sorry.

I have a question.....

Will there be an HD or high quality stream of KCTV anytime soon? The channel has an HD feed since 2015 (There are 2 video recordings of this, the only thing that is widescreen is the News Anchor and some other stuff but the quality is visibly higher) and the live links are of 260p or 360p VHS quality, and the Ustream channels only show the news and some stuff.

And what channel is this? All of the stuff is in English and seems to be playing mostly documentaries.

None of the live stream ip address links work. Do you have any others? It seems that one may be permanently​ shut down. In vlc player I tried http mms mmsh and rtsp, and none worked.

EDIT 2017/7/23: The SPTV site has removed the live stream link. If they re-link it I will update this post)

KCTV is only broadcasting for about 6 hours on weekdays, and 14 hours on weekend.
KCTV weekday broadcast schedule is about 0800-1430GMT, Weekend schedule 0000-1500GMT.
There will be color bars between KCTV broadcasting times.

The direct stream link is mms://121.167.43.161/chosun and it also is still working for me.  I don't know about the VLC player, but when I just click on the dirct stream link, KCTV opens up in my Windows Media Player.

This site http://www.elufa-tv.net/live.html right now says it is off air. I will check it when KCTV is broadcasting and see if it is on air then.
EDIT 2017/4/17 - the elufa-tv site is streaming KCTV now.  It is a bit iffy on availability - sometimes elufa is not streaming even when KCTV is on air.  Plus Ustream throws in an occasional advertisment while you watch.

Wow thanks for all the links.  I didn't know about that YouTube KCTV stream - they just created the channel a week ago! I like how they describe their channel: "KCTV broadcasts the best colour television since 1974."

Ok, so it appears that the stream contains breaks within it. These occur every few minutes. I was wondering why every few minutes my VLC player stopped playing, as if I had hit the stop button, even when I hadn't hit the stop button. So I turned on the VLC player debug logs so I could see why it stopped the stream every few minutes. It turned out it was either getting an EOF (end of file) signal, or there wasn't a new chunk of data for too long of a period of time so it was THINKING that it had reached the end. Here's the applicable part of the debug log:
live555 warning: no data received in 10s, eof ?
core debug: EOF reached

So how do I make it keep streaming? Is the source of the stream intentionally cutting off viewers after a few minutes to prevent the server from getting clogged? Is it really so popular that people are flooding the server? Or am I unique in having this problem? If it's a common problem that others are having who are trying to view this, is there a fix for it yet? Please tell me how to fix this, if it's possible to do so.

Also do keep in mind that sometimes the YouTube stream hosted by the KCTV channel mentioned sometimes has cuts, etc but they are archived as VODs. The channel will often have a new stream link so do check here:

I don't know anything about that VLC media player, but the stream works fine for me on Windows Media Player, why not try that - or you could try the YouTube live stream that bman78 found - https : // www .youtube.com/channel/UCpNOyv82HxeojstfqYRSEQQ/videos?view=2&flow=grid (EDIT: YouTube channel has been deleted)

It appears they have removed the link for some reason. If they re-link it I will  update the post.  Also the previously posted youtube KCTV live stream channels have been deleted.
The direct KCTV stream mms://121.167.43.161/chosun  is still working.  The Elufa  and Ustream KCTV links currently say it is off-air, but I will check later to see if they are on-air when KCTV is live broadcasting.
