I'm not so sure about that. Many north Koreans appear to be true believers in "their" news, and any other source as non-credible.

Just a question about one of the "facts" mentioned.
1. Every North Korean household has a radio that plays government propaganda and can't be turned off.
2. There are daily power outages in Pyongyang that last several hours. Many other regions of the country have no electricity at all.
So how do the radios work if there is no electricity? Does anyone really claim that North Korea installs millions of batteries to keep the radios working? I doubt it.
I get frustrated trying to separate fact from fiction about the DPRK. They lie about themselves. South Korea lies about them. The CIA lies about them. People post parody articles and videos that are instantly believed because nobody does any fact checking when it's a North Korea story. All I know for sure is that in spite of all the horror, there are still hot women directing traffic and playing in the Moranbong Band.
