PostSubject: PTGs risking their lives   Sun Sep 28, 2008 3:13 am

I have this morbid realization about the PTGs - about how they stand in the middle of the intersection with cars coming at them from 4 different directions. Eventually, the odds are that either by accident or on purpose one of them will get run over and killed. A painted circle and baton is not much protection against an errant automobile. They are indeed brave young ladies.

If it ever happened, the NK government would probably not allow news of it to be broadcast, they would hush it up. It probably has happend, but we'll never hear about it.

I could see Jong Il issuing an edict that if any driver harms a Traffic Girl, they will be executed. THAT would make them pay attention to their driving.

It looks like they are trying to come up with ways to keep them a little safer .....

LOL - "on purpose"? Like from a disgruntled boyfriend?

Sure, or from any number of possible scenarios - disgruntled boyfriend, jealous girlfriend, authority hater, sibling rivalry, a vet with post-traumatic flashback, a thrillseeker, a North Korean mob takeout, a nutjob, revenge killing, on a dare, a relative seeking inheritance ....... whatever.

The "Changing of the Traffic Guard" must be more difficult with those platforms. Do they have steps?

Valid point. While doing that structured march out to their post, it would look kind of silly if they then had to awkwardly climb up on that thing. Yep, good theory - the one marching out brings steps with her and the one being relieved takes them back? Hmmm

I'd like to see the precision way they've come up with for mounting that platform - someone get pictures of it asap.

And I'l bet that at least one traffic girl has fallen off that thing and broken her neck while doing those turns they do. Crying or Very sad
