I searched around, here's a chinese traffic girl who was really run over - broken arms, rushed to the hospital - the article says when she was in the operating room she was begging them not to cut off the sleeves of her traffic police uniform, crying that she loved her uniform so much. They cut them off anyway. It was a hit and run - the chinese media was broadcasting the license plate # of the car, police were offering a 10,000 Yan reward for information.

It does beg the question of how many Pyongyang Traffic Girls have been run over in the past, probably quite a few although that may be statistics they won't report.
